Waiting outside all night for your love to sneak out on a balcony can be cold business! These thick wool mitts will keep you warm, whether you’re waiting outside for your love, or just loving the fact that it’s now Fall here in the Northern Hemisphere! They knit up quickly, and would make wonderful gifts for friends and loved ones!

Based on the yardage of some projects, i’m upping the higher end of yardage requirements. I personally have made multiple pairs with 60-65 yds, but I see some people using up to 100-120. Also, please note that Yarn weights do matter! The recommended yarn, Paton's Colorwul (now discontinued) is a single strand/roving yarn weighted as bulky (#5), so it’s not very dense. Using a yarn such as Lion Brand Wool Ease thick and quick would not be a good substitute, as it is a super bulky (#6) yarn.

These mitts could easily be made smaller or larger by adding or removing a few stitches, or using larger or smaller needles! Custom mitts for everyone!!

As written, these mitts use less than one full skein of yarn.

This pattern could be used with solid colored yarn, but variegated/self striping yarn looks best, in my opinion.
