The Creel Square features a gently-textured interrupted garter stitch square with patterning reminiscent of a fishing creel.
Pattern Details
Gauge: 20 sts / 26 rows = 4” (10 cm)
Finished Measurements: 8” (20 cm) square
Materials:
- 65 yds / 60 m of worsted weight yarn. The sample used Berroco Vintage in “Stone.”
- [52% acrylic, 40% wool, 8% nylon; 281 yds / 199 m per 100g skein]
- US 8 (5.0mm) knitting needles, or size needed to achieve specified gauge
Stitches & Abbreviations
K = Knit
P = Purl
RS = Right (front) side
WS = Wrong (back) side
Blocking Note: If you do not block this square it will be too wide and too short.
When you block, focus on making the left and right sides the correct height. This will open up the garter ridges and contract the width.
